   When we went, it was Resturant Week, so I only checked their menu from RW's website. I never went to their direct website, my mistake. I didn't realize it's family style. So go with friends who have the same diaretary restrictions as you or friends who you know will like the same foods as you. My friend and I like the same stuff, so it was okay but it through us for a loop since we didn't know beforehand. The food for me is a 4 out of 10. I wanted to like it more than I did. Honestly, their bread is amazing! 10/10. Ceasar salad was sour like vinegar and overpowering for me. Pasta was undercooked. We had the clam sauce pasta and it was nice but could have used more sauce or something. Do not order their triple chocolate cake. Huge disappointment as a chocolate lover. The texture was the only redeeming quality. It tasted like fake chocolate or coco power that is used as a decorative topping. I was expecting rich dark chocolate flavor and it missed it completely. They had 2 chocolate covered strawberries that were delicious.

   Experience at Carmine's o Penn was lovely! We were seated promptly and had a few delicious cocktails to start. We enjoyed the old school service with plates and family/shared portions. The decor is slightly dated, but overall the ambience was casual, local Italian joint. Nice place to relax, converse and enjoy classic pasta dishes! We recommend a visit.

   We looked forward to this dinner for weeks. I am from New Orleans, so, admittedly I have high expectations of Italian restaurants. I have dined at Carmine's before and it was excellent, additionally, my clients live in Denver and visit Carmine's often. Last night was VERY disappointing. The service was extremely slow and they kept switching servers on us, so some items came out twice and some did not come out until we repeatedly asked, and then we were snapped at and treated with disdain. The bill was $260.00 for three people before tip. I still tipped 20%, having been in the service industry in the past, but we all left with a feeling of disappointment and likely will not return.

   We were sat promptly, waters came quickly and our server, Brian, introduced himself and brought delicious, homemade bread. We got along so well with Brian and he definitely made our experience fun. He recommended The Montana pasta dish that had chicken, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus and ziti pasta covered with a Gorgonzola wine sauce. I’ve never had such a dish and it was really good and rich with flavor. I wish there was more asparagus in the dish. We also had a Caesar salad that was plentiful and fresh. For dessert, we shared 4 cannolis. Yum. The evening was wonderful.

   We came for restaurant week for a pric fix menu of salad, entree and dessert. We enjoyed the food but had a server who completely forgot about us/ignored us. After ordering a $104 bottle of wine, he brought it to the table and left it there. 15 minutes later we had to request the manager to open it for us so we could enjoy it Server offered and then forgot the bread (we had to ask another server after waiting a long time) and we finally ordered dinner about 30 minutes of being patient with wine only. When dinner and salad arrived, it was good though. Another long wait to order dessert after we were done eating. 30 minutes later no dessert came, but he brought the bill and expected us to pay it before dessert arrived. He brought dessert to go in boxes and the chocolate cake piece was half the size of what we saw other people get who had gottten the cake. It had no homemade caramel sauce he had told us about and was pretty dry. After we paid and spent 2 hours waiting for salads and shared entrees, I said something to the manager who didn’t really seem to care either We won’t be back. Didn’t feel valued and were completely forgotten by our wait staff.

   The reason I put a low score on service was due to host/hostess. Arriving early for a 7:30 reservation they kinda forgot us at the bar until I re-engaged.
