   Cafe Madrid has long been one of our places for special occasions. We booked a Valentine’s Day date a day late since everything was booked for the night of. Usually service is top notch and attentive. And while our server was very nice and apologetic, it was SO SLOW. We had to remind him to bring our bread. He mentioned he usually had a “helper” but didn’t that night. Our reservation was for 6:30 and we did not get our entrees until after 8:00, not quite 8:15. When we took our first bites of food though, we both said out loud at the same time, “ worth the wait!” It really is that delicious. It’s hard to not make “yummy noises” while you’re eating! It seemed like there were plenty of servers, but maybe one guy in the kitchen? It seemed a little extreme. This was the first time we’ve ever had such slow service. It won’t stop us from coming back, but we’ll make sure we have plenty of time when we go.

   The Sangria was off the charts! Our server was very good and friendly. The corizo was amazing with the Manchego cheese on the charcuterie board.

   Went there for a late Valentines dinner reserved 2 1/2 weeks in advance. They had a nice prefix menu with a decent degree of selection. It was busy, but service was outstanding and food as always reliably excellent.

   Excellent in all aspects. Their prices have gone up since we were last there, but they increased portions as well. Katrina is absolutely outstanding!

   I love Cafe Madrid for the food, the Spanish wines,the ambience and the service. It is like dining in someones home. The food is excellent. Between my dining companion and I we ordered surf and turf. The salmon was not overcooked and tender, with the lightest crust from the searing. The medallions were tender and a perfectly cooked medium rare. Since this was brunch we started with a dark roast coffee that was rich and full bodied with no hint of bitterness. We complemented the meal with 2 dry white Spanish wines, one very slightly fruitier than the other, which was lovely with the medallions. Once things settled a bit we finished with a rich creamy flan. This restaurant is a locally owned gem with chefs who show care and attention to the quality of the food. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

    Fixed price Christmas Eve dinner was easily the worst price to quality dining experience we’ve had. $600 for family of four with a bottle of wine. Some of the food was pretty good, but most was comparable to the kind you get at business conference halls. It was our third and last time there.
