If you're looking for a seafood restaurant in St. Augustine, this unique fly-fishing themed restaurant offers daily fresh fish specials using locally caught fish that you don't usually see on most restaurant menus. The kitchen at BlackFly is a "Scratch Kitchen"; everything is fresh, as local as possible, seasonal and made to order. The menu at BlackFly includes Chop House selections as well as an extensive wine selection. Mike and Cindy, partners in BlackFly and owners of the Famous Collage Restaurant in downtown St. Augustine are the operational managers. The menu is the grand result of their combined expertise, their years of experience in bringing the best possible product to the table and the imaginative input of our talented culinary team. The restaurant is under the internationally known BlackFly Brand of Vaughn Cochran, a Florida artist who lives and paints in St. Augustine, Florida and who developed the famous BlackFly Logo.

    Took my husband for a birthday dinner and nothing was recognized. They asked on app what you’re celebrating but didn’t matter. The pictures made it look like a very nice restaurant but it turned out to be a bar kind of environment. Our waiter was great and very friendly. Our table was literally right next to the other one which 4 people sat elbow to back. Don’t go here if you’re looking for a nice quiet dinner. Pictures def different than what I thought would be. Food was ok but not great. Just wasn’t what I was expecting.

    Erin was a friendly and attentive server. The Haitian calamari was fantastic. Conch fritters were quite good, just a little doughy. My wife and I split the mahi done island style, very tasty. The side veggies tasted fresh but were a little bland. Our son had the blue crab capellini, so creamy and delicious with lots of crab. A couple of very nice cocktails. We will be back to try more dishes.

    They open @ 5 & our reservation was @ 5:45. How are you behind over 30’ barely into service ? We only ordered some apps & drinks yet it took between 30-40’ to be served. Prices were high & portions were minuscule. Mussels for $14, we received five 5 mussels - that’s it. There are many better more reasonably priced options nearby. They need some management, I saw none present.

    YUMMY!!! My son and I ate here for dinner last night and let me tell you it was delicious! Ask for Dave! He was such an amazing server from start to finish! He went over the menu with us and gave wonderful suggestions! My son said he made the best Arnold Palmer he has ever had! We had the Tuna Poke appetizer, my son had the Lobster Mac and Cheese, and I had the 8oz Beef Tenderloin with the truffle butter and mushroom sauce (both on the side). Let me tell you... IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS!!! The restaurant was very clean and very cute inside. On the way out we spoke with the owner, Nick, he was extremely friendly! We wanted to let him know about the excellent service and wonderful meal we had. Also, the hostess and a server that came over to wish us a nice night was super friendly too! Everyone there was great!!! We are definitely adding this restaurant to our list to visit every time we are back in St Augustine!

    We love this place and come here often when we come to St. Augustine, we wanted to try the pizza so we ordered 2, my husbands was fine but the crust on mine on one side was too burnt for me and the goat cheese I only saw the smallest amount and couldn’t taste it (the only reason I ordered it) we were starving so I just ate some. The back room that is reserved for bigger parties was full of big parties so I feel you shouldn’t put smaller parties in there as it’s too hard to hear each other since it’s enclosed more unlike the dining room. Bigger parties tend to be louder so my husband and I could barely hear each other. Disappointed this visit.
