   Food was good but not excellent. Great design. Service was bad. Ordered coffee and it never came. Also drinks were very slow. New York is much better.

   We started the evening having to wait 15 minutes for our table to be ready, so we sat at the bar and had a drink, which is fine but worth noting if you’re in a rush, pre show etc. The food was great, but the service did not meet expectations; the staff seemed overwhelmed and there little support from floor management. It was clear the waiters were under huge pressure which affected the atmosphere. Additionally, our glasses were taken away when we were only a quarter way into our bottle (kept away from the table, and not topped up often). Whilst the meal itself was enjoyable, the service and resulting atmosphere let the experience down. We’re going to stick with our tried and trusted Brasserie Zédel in future.

   Had to wait over 15 mins from our booking time before seated (standing in the entrance). No apologies. As were many other people (the bar was also full). A very large proportion of the tables were empty or hadn’t been cleared which gave a feeling of emptiness and disorganisation. As soon as we were sat down we were told (before orders were taken) that we still had to give the table back within the allotted time. Orders for others who arrived after us were taken before ours. Drinks and starters arrived at same time. Bread only arrived after starters and after we had to ask if it was coming. Had to ask multiple times for a very wobbly table to be fixed and was only done as starters arrived. Our champagne was spilled by the waiter in doing so which was noted but nothing was offered. We ended up being there for two hours all in (and had said we needed a quick meal) because of all the delays. Main course onwards went more smoothly and the food was quite good although lobster was over cooked. We have been many times before including in private rooms and this was by far our worst experience. I see others had a similar experience recently so perhaps there is a current issue around management but I’d be reluctant to give it another go.

   We had a reservation at 5:30PM, didn’t get served until 6PM. When we finally got served the food was great and everything went smooth. Great vibe and friendly staff

   Gorgeous, classic interior which sets the scene well for an enjoyable meal. Food fabulous but service is the star. Super friendly & helpful staff which is unusual in West end tourist spot. I will return

   Made a reservation only to arrive and be told I could only sit at the bar. I could have walked into a hundred other restaurants and sat at the bar. The whole point of a reservation is to have a table.

   Balthazar is my favourite restaurant in Covent Garden. The welcoming staff are always delightful - in fact almost all are delightful.

   A constantly consistent restaurant always solid but not outstanding. pretty well priced wine list . I got a black current souffle rather than the raspberry one which was promised which was disappointing. All in all pretty good

    We arrived on time but our table was not ready so went to the bar to have a drink. The restaurant was very busy and there was only one barman on duty serving all the waiters orders and serving the bar customers. We waited patiently about 15 mins to get served. The bar was so busy two barmen would not have been enough. We were finally taken to our table situated in a corner with a column, I was told by 3 waiters to move my chair as I was obstructing the passage. I asked a manager to move us , I had booked 2 weeks previously and this was a birthday treat for my friend Trudi. The manager did move us to a lovely table and we enjoyed a lovely tasty lunch . I really feel you should not sit people on that corner seat especially 3 people .
