   We absolutely loved the food, service, view and overall ambiance of Atlantic's Edge. We visited from another resort but have decided to stay here at Checca Lodge the next time we visit.

   We had the seafood trap for two and the broth was tasteless and the seafood over cooked. We would not return to this restaurant. Our server was wonderful.

   Atlantic’s Edge is an interesting place for dinner. It’s located in Cheeca Lodge which is a gated resort. So in order to enter you need to show proof of your dinner reservation, and apparently you need to arrive around the time of your reservation. So it’s a bit off putting in terms of feeling welcome or appreciated. Similar experience at the host stand. The greeting was lukewarm at best. As to the food and service, overall the food was good. The dishes were nicely prepared and seemed very much as described. But I wouldn’t say that any of the food was delicious or extraordinary. One of the dishes we tried was the blackened grouper. It lacked any seasoning and certainly didn’t show the char typically associated with “blackened” style of cooking. Food temps were also a bit off. Items were warm or room temp. So no cool crisp salads or hot entrees. This was our second trip to Atlantic’s Edge and I’m not sure we will repeat.

   Serene waterfront dining. Breakfast was delicious and the Bloody Mary was perfect.

   Small portions, poor quality and over-priced. Steak was ordered medium and came back super rare. Sent back and 10 minutes later came back Medium-Rare. Much better spots in Islamorada to go.

   Every time I go to Cheeca, I am completely amazed at the terrible service. We had reservations , arrived and waited at the host stand for a while with the host seeing us, but walking away and then went inside. Finally seated, we watched as 5 people milled around “working”. We tried to make eye contact and get someone’s attention to at least get a drink. After 15 minutes of being ignored (the restaurant was empty by the way—only 3 other tables). We left and went to Square Grouper—amazing service and delicious food!

   Good food but the worst service ever!! We were left had to ask for everything including silverware, that never came so we could eat!! Real disappointing

    Paid an outrageous price for a meal where I got the wrong salad, wrong entree and wrong drink. Thank god for great entertainment.
