Antica Trattoria is a warm restaurant with an old-fashioned sense of hospitality that quickly became a gathering place for dinners in Lake Murray and the rest of San Diego when it opened in 2001. For Executive Chef and Owner Francesco Basile, good cuisine is about honest flavors, fresh ingredients, and simplicity. That's the kind of food he grew up eating by the seaside in Sicily and it's what he learned in culinary school in Italy.

Why eat ordinary when you can eat extraordinary?

About reservations: We have a 15-minute grace period. Please call us if you will be running later than 15 minutes. If a later time slot is available, you may be able to switch your reservation.

We may contact you, so please ensure your email and phone number are up to date. Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 30 minutes for parties of up to 4 guests; 2 hours for parties of 5 to 8 guests; and 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 9+. We cannot guarantee special request for tables.

    We LOVE this place and used to visit a lot more when we lived closer. It’s a bit of a drive more now but WHAT A MEAL we had. Thank you!

    Excellent Italian/Sicilian dishes. Bread and salad served very quickly, along with wine. Main dishes took a good bit of time ...about 40 minutes. But they were preparing for a large 50th birthday party's arrival along with several tables outside. The wait was worth it.

    The food was delicious as usual hot and very well prepared. Our server was very attentive, helpful and did a great job along with the Buser. Love the eggplant, Parm and lasagna. What really caught my eye this time was what a wonderful job they did on taking a concrete box For a restaurant and transposing it into an Italian villa! Extremely well done every surface. Very well thought out kudos to the person responsible for the ambience. Thank you for being consistently great !

    Heather was great, the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. Heather was very attentive and explained the food options. The food is ok, they need to be more attentive with the service like picking up the dirty plates, making sure you have silverware and water. But for a casual dinner it is good.
