    A great meal and good atmosphere. Only issue was slow service BUT this was not the fault of the server. Our waiter was hustling, but he was just responsible for too many tables for us to get the service we wanted. It was nearly an hour by the time our entrees came, which was not good on a night when I was starving. Otherwise, 42nd Street is a keeper, and I'd definitely go agin.

    Shrimp cocktail was slimy. Hostess wouldnt sit when part of party was sitting in bar area and settling up bill. Multiple confirmation requests. Obe should be enough.

    I have been here several times on a Monday night, but this time was different. The food wasn't as tasty, and one of my guests had to send 2 items back with no replacement by choice.

    I have been eating here several times a year for 30 years. The food this visit was not as good as previous visits. While the waitress was nice, the service was not very good. The Oysters were great. The salads were not good. The meals were warm, not hot and the sides came 5 minutes after our meals. This was not a good experience.

    Wonderful meal on a busy holiday night! Service was exceptional- as busy as they were, we felt well taken care of. Great recommendations from our server and the food was excellent. We look forward to returning soon!

    Having gone to 42nd street for years, this is the one place we chose for our anniversary dinner. Our waiter was outstanding. The food was below par. Calamari was chewy and rubbery but the crab dip was on par. Our guests had the 42st platter with mahi. The fish was raw in the middle. I had the blackened scallops wrapped in bacon which were rubbery and tasted really greasy. The 2 others had the sea bass and were happy with it. Also the argument in the kitchen with one of the guys screaming and shaking his finger at someone in the front … made u feel very uncomfortable.
