The onion soup was very over salted. Seems they knew it as another customer complained and I heard the waiter ask if it was too salty? The dinners were good. The duck was well prepared and the ravioli was also good. It is irritating that they charged $1.50 for ice in our drinks and a $5.00 surcharge if you used a credit card.

Out of 2 dinners, one was good - shrimp, but the scallops on the second meal were chewy - not so good. Bread was the best part. Server was very attentive.

We always find the folks at 39 Rue de Jean to be quite accommodating. Enjoy the food , the atmosphere could be a bit noisy. However, we do return from time to time

My first experience dining here. Took my 18 year old granddaughter for her spring break trip and introduced her To their delicious escargot. Must have and the warm bread to dip. Tried their potato truffle soup and it was excellent. Baked goat cheese beet salad was over the top. Our entrées were delicious. We will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our evening here, but both of our entrees, which were recommended as favorites at the restaurant and both were bland. Not awful, both were well cooked, just lacking flavor. The service was absolutely delightful and the ambience was nice. Tad noisy but that means they are busy and folks are having a good time. Not a bad place to go, solid backup if you can't get reservations at other places downtown.

We loved the onion soup and the delicious bread. We also loved the mousse cake dessert which was delicious. My new favorite dessert. We both had the Brussels sprout salad. The Brussel sprouts were very tough and almost in eatable. I think they should have been shaved. Also there was a strange spice that I wasn't familiar with that was very hot and not appealing. I would not order this again unless the bs were softer or shaved. We loved our server and the ambiance. Great after a show at the Charleston Music Hall next door. They should offer an after show meal, maybe 2 appetizers and a dessert since its so late. I think that would be a great addition.

The greeter was surly and rude. She looked like a female wrestler. The server was very “distracted”, and we were an afterthought at best. Not a good experience at all. We won’t return.

5 of us dined last night. Each enjoyed their entrees. Pork tenderloin, scallops, shrimp, salmon and chicken. Service was great.
